My son will soon be living with me full time and I want to spend more time with him and less in front of the computer.  Between him going to school, having homework to do, and me working that leaves very little time for anything else.

Being a single parent isn’t something that I want to take lightly.  If he has something he wants to do I don’t want to tell him that “I have to podcast.”  That’s not something he wants to hear.  I might not be the perfect parent, but I want him to be happy about the time we spend together.

I know that I could probably keep one or two of the podcasts going, but prepping, recording and editing the shows take up a good portion of the evenings and I don’t want to take any nights away from him.

Also, I did podcasting for the passion.  It helped to keep my mind occupied when I was alone between the hours of getting home from work and before going to bed.  Now that time is going to be occupied by my son.

Also, the numbers for all the shows were very low.  It was you, the friends, that did the downloading of the show.  I want to thank all of you for doing that and for joining us in the conversation in the chat rooms all those times we were live.

So, what does that mean to me?

Well, I’m not going to be on the computer on as much.  I won’t be doing the social networking sites.  I will still have the accounts, but I won’t be active on them.  I will check my email a couple of times a week and not constantly like I did previously.  My computer is going to be that little thing in the corner that gathers dust.

So, once again, thanks for being there and for the time we spent together.

Ericka Plourde is new to podcasting and has a new found interest in podcasting. She is the creator and host of the Autism Warriors podcast and the co-host of the Talk Duo podcast.

Each week, host Ericka Plourde and her co-host Pamela Mari get together and talk about Autism including but not limited to Autism stories in the news, questions concerning behaviors, family dynamics, methodologies, and most importantly, share difficulties and triumphs while living within an Autism family.
